Artist: Sheila Saxon

Sheila Saxon hand knits and felts one-of-a-kind purses.  Once the purse is complete, she applies her artistic skills of needlefelting to create wearable art. "Art - With a Purse Attached".

Sheila has sold her creations around the world, as well as on-line and in juried art shows.  In addition, she is well known in the Pacific Northwest, but has many admirers around the country.

You are hereby in invited to shop "Felted Fantasies" and fall in love with Sheila's work.

Sheila loves doing custom purses.  She receives photos of pets via post and e-mail and works with the customer to determine the right style purse and appropriate colors.  Then she does her magic and puts that pet on the purse.  Some customers with multiple pets have found Sheila's work addicting.

Description of Work:

All purses are hand knit in 100% wool, or 100% Alpaca, then felted, and finally needle felted.  Needle felting is like painting with "roving" wool using sharp barbed needles as your paint brush. The barbs tangle the wool from the inside attaching it to the fabric. Painting with wool provides a fabulous way to add details, texture, and depth to the needle felt art. All purses have an inside pocket.
