My procedure: The felted hats are knitted from one strand of 100% merino wool yarn for shape and one strand of 100% baby alpaca yarn for softness. They are then placed in a heated washing machine to felt. They are then left to dry. After a day or two they are needle-felted by hand with images of animals or birds or flowers. Needle-felt art provides the ability to add detail and depth to create three dimensional images.
THE HATS HAVE A STRING ON THE INSIDE THAT CAN PULL SHORTER FOR THOSE WHO HAVE A SMALL HEAD OR LOOSER FOR THOSE WITH BIGGER HEADS
